What belongs here¶
Include developments that materially affect at least one of these:
- product announcements, releases, delays, discontinuations, or regional availability;
- firmware, companion-app, SDK, API, operating-system, or AI-model changes;
- security, privacy, safety, regulatory, standards, or right-to-repair developments;
- open-source projects, protocol discoveries, firmware archives, tools, and recovery methods;
- optics, displays, batteries, sensors, silicon, manufacturing, and supply-chain milestones;
- accessibility, healthcare, enterprise, education, and human-factors research;
- meaningful market, partnership, investment, or ecosystem shifts;
- corrections to widely repeated claims.
Routine promotions, duplicated press-release rewrites, affiliate buying lists, unsupported rumors, and trivial color variants do not earn entries.
Evidence labels¶
- Primary — manufacturer, project, standards body, regulator, paper, repository, or release notes.
- Independent reporting — journalist or analyst adding verification or material context.
- Community report — attributed user, developer, maintainer, forum, or social post.
- Commercial claim — seller, marketplace, or vendor marketing not independently verified.
- Inference — repository analysis derived from cited evidence.
- Hands-on — directly observed on an identified project specimen.
A news item may use several labels. Headlines never upgrade a claim’s evidence status.
Weekly output¶
Each weekly pass should:
- search the full source watchlist and broader web;
- compare findings against prior digests and the model registry;
- create a dated digest only when there is material new information;
- update the release tracker and affected canonical model/entity pages;
- archive fragile lawful-to-preserve material when practical;
- open a reviewable pull request with source, evidence, and validation notes.
The digest is the chronological record. Canonical model, glossary, resource, and FAQ pages remain the durable statement of what is currently known.
