Firmware¶
Purpose¶
Identify, preserve, compare, and analyze firmware associated with W610/W6xx-family smart glasses without losing provenance.
Evidence rules¶
For every firmware artifact, record:
- Source URL or acquisition method
- Date acquired
- Advertised device compatibility
- File name and size
- SHA-256 hash
- Packaging or compression format
- Whether the artifact is original, extracted, modified, or reconstructed
- Redistribution status and licensing notes
Firmware inventory¶
| Device or listing | Version | Source | SHA-256 | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TBD | TBD | TBD | TBD | Not acquired |
Acquisition paths to investigate¶
- Vendor application update traffic
- APK assets and configuration files
- Public SDK or support downloads
- Device update mode
- Hardware debug interfaces
- Community archives
- OEM/ODM support portals
Analysis checklist¶
- [ ] Preserve the original artifact read-only
- [ ] Calculate cryptographic hashes
- [ ] Identify container and filesystem formats
- [ ] Search for version strings and build metadata
- [ ] Inventory certificates, endpoints, UUIDs, and configuration keys
- [ ] Compare revisions with binary-diff tools
- [ ] Document flashing and recovery risks before testing
Safety¶
Do not flash unknown firmware until a recovery path is documented. Never publish private keys, credentials, personal data, or proprietary material that cannot legally be redistributed.
